ReadMe File

Thank you for downloading the TOA Network Audio Adapter
NX-100, NX-100S Firmware Ver.2.15.

The NX-100, NX-100S Firmware Ver.2.15 ("Firmware" herein)
is dedicated firmware for TOA's NX-100 or NX-100S Network
Audio Adapter, and can only be used by upgrading them
through the network.
2 models operates by the common firmware Ver.2.00 or laster.
Use these files in a decompressed folder without deleting
or moving until upgrade completion.

This ReadMe file contains the following information:
1. Guidance on the License Agreement
2. About this firmware
3. Notes on firmware version upgrade
4. How to upgrade the firmware version
5. How to confirm upgrade completion

1. Guidance on the License Agreement
-------------------------------------------
You need to consent to the conditions set out in the
License Agreement when using the Firmware to upgrade the
NX-100 or NX-100S. Please read the file "license.txt"
contained in the same decompressed folder before upgrading.

2. About this firmware
-------------------------------------------
The Firmware is intended for those who are using the NX-100
, NX-100S firmware of the version earlier than 2.14 and want
to upgrade it.

Version 2.15 differs from version 2.14 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the fault that processing that NX-100 stop
broadcasting when two or more multicast broadcasting is
started and a part of the broadcasting destination is
  corresponding.

Version 2.14 differs from version 2.13 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 might reset it
automatically when broadcasting for a long time when 20ms
  delay is set.

Version 2.13 differs from version 2.12 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the fault that audio output become mute for
  circuit board conforming RoHS

Version 2.12 differs from version 2.10 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible to
be accessed which might happen when he start of the
broadcasting and the broadcasting end control were generated
  at the same time.
*To restore it automatically when CPU abnormality operates,
  it has improved it.

Version 2.10 differs from version 2.02 in the following
points:
*For RoHS directive conforming new circuit board.
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to be accessed which might happen when the simultaneous
broadcasting to plural place by the unicast is stopped.

Version 2.02 differs from version 2.01 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to be accessed which might happen when communication
error occurs in irrelevant multicast packet to the
  equipment.
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to stop broadcasting which might happen when start
and stop of broadcasting are repeated at high speed.
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 comes to repeat
release and connection of the TCP session in sereal
  bridge function(TCP).
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to be accessed in the following each situation.
*When access to Web server with long URL.
*When a specific TCP port number allocation is set.
*When big size configuration file (*.cfg) is uploaded.
*Correction of various mistakes in English display of Web
  server contents.

Version 2.01 differs from version 2.00 in the following
point:
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to output audio signal after recovery if packets are
continuously lost immediately after broadcast start or
before sampling frequency adjustment is completed.

Version 2.00 differs from version 1.22 in the following
points:
*Change which corresponds to the selling start of NX-100S
and makes operation possible by the same firmware.
*The addition of clear statement of the warning to
failure by the power supply OFF during firmware upgrade.
*Prevention of the fault that NX-100 becomes impossible
to recognize packet reception or broadcast start becomes
impossible which happens when broadcasting in the network
situation that many packets are intermittently received
at the speed of 10Mbps or more.
*Prevention of the fault that serial bridge function etc.
becomes impossible (RUN LED blinking), after the
communication is completed in an unusual TCP error, when
having set the serial bridge function to TCP client.

Version 1.22 differs from version 1.21 in the following
points:
*Prevention of the hang-up which happens when the serial
bridge function has been used during bi-directional
broadcast for a long time (30 minutes or more).
*Prevention of the unusual writing of unit setting file
which may happen when the packet for sampling frequency
correction is received at the moment of uploading unit
  setting file.

Version 1.21 differs from version 1.20 in the following
point:
*Prevention of the fault that a broadcast start becomes
impossible by one broadcast spec. (This broadcast spec
is only "Sampling Freq.=32kHz", "Compression=Yes" and
  "PacketSize=32Byte".)

Version 1.20 differs from version 1.13 in the following
points:
*Permits broadcasting destinations to be added or deleted
with multiple contact inputs in multicast broadcast.
*Outputs a contact input signal to the original NX-100
  unit's contact output terminal.
*Outputs Error and Status indicator indications to any
  desired contact output terminal.
*Transfers sampling frequency adjustment data by way of
  IP multicast.
 *Operating log display items added.
 *Outputs stream logs to files.
*Prevention of communications errors between PC
applications, such as operating software, strengthened.
*System names and passwords shorter than those preset by
  factory can be entered.

If you are using firmware of version 2.15 or later, you do
not need to upgrade the version. The firmware is a file
"NX100_V215.bin" contained in the same decompressed folder.

3. Notes on firmware version upgrade
-------------------------------------------
Make sure that current broadcasts are terminated before
starting to upgrade. Never switch off the power during
upgrade or immediately after the power is switched on in
order to avoid equipment failures. Your upgrade operation
does by no means adversely affect data settings performed
for the NX-100 and NX-100S.
To use new functions enabled by the version upgrade, all
of the NX-100 and NX-100S units in the system must be
upgraded to the latest firmware. Our latest "NX-100 Software
Ver.2.15" and "NX-100S Installation/Setup Manual," which
are necessary for the upgrade setting, are made available.
Please use them by downloading from our product information
download site (http://www.toa-products.com/international/).

4. How to upgrade the firmware version
-------------------------------------------
You can upgrade the version with a PC connected to the same
network as that of the NX-100 and NX-100S, and by using
either the "NX-100 setup software program (installation
/setting)" or "Browser (installation/setting mode).
For more information on the method, please read p. 3-29;
System Settings or p. 4-27; System Management of the
Installation/Setup Manual.

5. How to confirm upgrade completion
-------------------------------------------
The NX-100 and NX-100S operates in Version 2.15 after version
upgrade completion. The following two methods are available
to check to see if the version has been correctly upgraded:
(1) If you used the "NX-100 setup software program" to
upgrade the version, carry out "Downloading Unit Setting
Files" on p. 3-30 of the Installation/Setup Manual
after upgrade completion, then ensure that "Firmware
version" is "2.15" on the System Setting screen shown on
    p. 3-29.
(2) If you used "Browser" to upgrade, restart the program
and open the System Management screen on p. 4-27 again
from the menu to check to confirm that "Current version"
    is "2.15."
